1.       How long have you been working as a Project Manager & what skill set did you bring into this role?

I have been a Project Manager / Site Supervisor for 10 years out of my 25 years in construction.  What I bring to this role is transparency and good workmanship.  I pride myself on trying to have open communication with trades, staff and new house owners.  I am a hands on Project Manager and will get in to help if the need arises.   

2.       What is the most rewarding thing about being in this industry?

The friendships that I have formed over the years and the stories that have been told are up there.  I have owned my own business and subcontracted to local businesses over the years as a carpenter which gives me a great insight of all trades, their processes and timelines, problems that could arise and how to solve them.  I enjoy putting the pieces of the puzzle together to make it whole.   

3.       How long have you worked with Homes by DJ Jones & why did you choose to work in this local owned company?

Collectively I have worked for Homes by DJ Jones for approximately 5 years in both a contract carpenters role and that of a Project Manager / Site Supervisor.  I like to see local business thrive.  The potential to build quality homes and the professionalism of trades that work with Homes by DJ Jones has, are qualities that I want to be around in my working career.  

4.       Do you intend to be a Project Manager looking forward & why?

I do intend on being a Project Manager looking forward for a couple of reasons.  Main reason is that I enjoy doing what I do.  No job is perfect and this job has its moments.  Some clients throw obstacles that prove a challenge, but what is a day without a good challenge.  I like to see the project out from beginning to end.  Carpentry will always be a skill I can use and go back to, but I don’t think my body or my wife enjoy it as much as I do.
